    Users are asked to honor these rules, if you don't you will be punished accordingly with a warning or temporary ban, and then continuing to break the rules will get you banned longer or even permanently. Do not complain, you should have read the rules.

    If you commit any offense that is not listed here, it is under the moderators' discretion to punish you as they see fit. They can make a user exempt from a certain rule if they would like to or choose harsher punishments than the here listed under certain circumstances, but other moderators must agree as well.

    Posts are to be made in the relevant thread. Users are asked to read the thread title before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong thread turning everything off-topic may be given [1 warning point].
    Remain respectful towards other users, moderators and administrators at all times. All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. It does not matter what title or power you hold in these forums or elsewhere, you are expected to honor this rule. For example, phrases such as "shut up, noob, idiot," are indicative of problematic posts and should be reported. Suggested alternatives include "I disagree with what you said for the following reasons..." Please remember to stay mature and thoughtful at all times. Doing otherwise will get your account banned temporarily, or permanently if the situation becomes severe enough [this will be left to the discretion of the moderation team].
    Members are asked to not act as “back seat moderators”. If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the moderation team. Please use the “post report” feature to report posts. Do not respond to such topics yourself. Members who constantly “act” as moderators may be given [1 warning point].
    Please do not post inappropriate material, I think everyone understands what is meant by this. The policy goes that if you would not feel comfortable viewing it at work, or in front of children or parents, don't post it! This includes anything which is offensive, hateful, racist, sexist, discriminatory, obscene, vulgar or in violation of local or international laws. Disobeying this rule will give you [3 warning points] and a [1 week ban] at first offense and a [permanent ban] at second offense.
    Do not upload, attach, or otherwise post any copyrighted material which you are not free to redistribute (subject to the licensing terms of the specific item). If you have a question about having permission to post or attach a specific item, please ask a moderator. Otherwise you risk receiving [2 warning points] and a [1 day ban].
    Members are asked only to post in English, as this is an English speaking community. If you need a question answered, please PM a moderator. Posts in different languages will be deleted and users frequently posting in a different language might receive. We may allow for threads in other languages only in the guild recruiting and add me sections. [1 warning point].
    Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly users SHOULD NOT SHOUT (capslock) or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently violating this will receive [1 warning point].
    Members should use an appropriate, descriptive subject when posting a new topic. Examples of bad subjects include: "Help me!"; "I'm stuck!"; "I've got an error!"; etc. Constant failure of this rule will result in [1 warning point].
    Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), posting in threads more than one (1) month old (also known as necromancing), installation services, solicitation etc. Recruiting members for your own projects unrelated to hoc (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam unless approved by a moderator beforehand. Users posting spam will be given [1 warning point] and their post(s) will be deleted.
    Before posting a thread, check to see if one of the same topic has been made and is active. If we find the two active threads on the same topic, they will either be merged or one will be closed and the other will remain open. Please use the search function to check for your topic. Of course this applies also to topics about updates and new content. Users constantly opening new threads about recently discussed topics will receive [1 warning point].
    Members are allowed to have one forum account only. This includes making a fake account for the sole purpose of giving yourself likes. If you make a new account because a previous one was banned, your new account will be [permanently banned], and your old one will have the [ban-time increased].
    Member signatures involving pictures or .gifs are restricted to 150 pixels in height (The total height of multiple pictures/gifs is taken into account). Signatures that are larger than this restriction will be removed. Continuous violation of this rule will lead to a suspension of your signature privileges.
    Do not post threads or use user titles/signatures related to “sponsoring” or asking for free runes. They will be deleted and [1 warning point] will be issued.
    Do not post threads promoting the use of serious in-game exploits. This will lead to more people exploiting, which is the last thing we need. Threads of this type will be removed and users posting threads promoting the use of exploits will be given [2 warning points] and a [1 day ban]. If they repost the exploit after the ban period their account will be [permanently banned]. Please contact Gameloft or the Moderators who have the contacts privately if you find serious exploits and want them fixed.
    Sharing your invitation code for an add/app downloading program/website that rewards you in the form of real life currency (Appnana is an example) is not allowed in your signature or in an irrelevant thread. It is permitted only when it is in a thread promoting the use of one of these websites, which should be in the lounge section. The same applies to hoc recruitment codes (you find a topic for this in the general section). Users disobeying this rule will receive [1 warning point] and inappropriate posts/threads will be deleted.
    If your account has fewer than 25 relevant posts (no spam) and you commit any offense, your account will be [permanently banned]. This is your warning.
    Selling accounts is permitted, but please remember that it is a privilege, not a right. If you wish to sell or give away your account, it must be posted in the proper forum section(click me!).
    Additionally, the thread title must be posted in this format:
    [Platform](Username) Selling Account
    So if I were to sell my account, it would look like this:
    [iOS](Mabarry3) Selling Account

    Your post must include the following:
    IGN (in-game name)
    Current Level
    Heroes Owned
    Skins Owned
    Tablets Owned
    Rank in Border Skirmish, Rift at Sinskaald, and Under Realm Ruins.
    Minimum price you are willing to sell for (if applicable).

    Another thing that you might consider including or looking for if buying an account... Whether the e-mail associated with the account is included with the selling of the account. This is important because access to the e-mail is all that is needed to get access to the account, or to change the password out from under someone. Buying without an e-mail requires trust of the seller that they will not scam you

    If your post does not include the information, we will try to inform you, and if you do not correct it with the desired information, the post will be removed.

    Be aware that forum Moderators and Administrators are NOT responsible for any scamming when selling accounts. We cannot do anything if you are scammed by someone selling a fake account, scammed by someone who changed the password out from under you, or scammed by someone trying to buy your account, and so we advise you to make sure you know that you are safe.
    In the event that you are scammed, we will do all that we can to help guide you in ways that you can get your account back and the proper people to contact and help in answering any questions they may have, but we can make no sure promises that it will actually get you your account/money back.
    Members should use appropriate font colors that are easy to read. (i.e. no bright colors and especially not white). Users consistently posting with unreadable font colors will be issued [1 warning point]
    Repeatedly abusing the report function for fun, taking out personal quarrels or grabbing the attention of moderators for no reason at all may lead to warning points and ultimately a ban.
    We don't want to discourage from using the report function at all, so rest assured that we will know the difference and are carrying out this rule thoughtfully.

    The above forum rules apply to threads, posts, private messaging, shout boxes, profile messages and chat. Abuse of any system may lead to warnings/bans (as above) and/or the revocation of rights to use them at all.

    Removed the rule regarding Vainglory
    This is a Heroes of Order & Chaos fan forum, not a general MOBA forum. Up until now we allowed other games to be discussed in the off-topic section of the forum. But fans of this specific game did bring it up again and again in the general section, encouraging others to do so as well and majorly disturbing the main purpose of this forum (HOC discussion), turning many threads into a pointless off-topic fight between fans of different games of the same genre.

    As a result the discussion of Vainglory will no longer be allowed in any section and forum members who still do so will receive [2 warning points] each time and posts/threads containing it will be deleted.
    When posting about VG keep in mind that all the other forum rules still apply - flaming, offtopic, spam, etc will not be tolerated. Please post in a constructive manner and make only meaningful comparisons.
    If this topic causes issues again the rule may be reintroduced at any time.
