General 1.1 Administration & Announcements 1.1.1 Any news article posted on HOCMasters.com and/or the official competition website serves as an official announcement for the competition. 1.1.2 Official announcements as well as statements of referees at any place (e.g. competition website, wechat, etc.) can ignore or overrule the following rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. In case of contradicting declarations, the most recent announcement or admin statement counts. 1.1.3 These rules can be modified at any time by HOCMasters administrators to add, remove or clarify any rule. 1.2 Commitments 1.2.1 By attending the competition participants acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations, official announcement, and with the statements and decisions made by the referees. 1.2.2 Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice. 1.2.3 Every participant has to show the needed respect towards referees and other participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour towards anyone are not tolerated and will be warned and/or punished. 1.2.4 Every team accepts the official schedule of the competition and declares its ability to be available during these times. 1.2.5 Every team and participant has to try to win every game at every stage of the competition. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden. 1.3 Communication The default/primary communication platform is KAKAO CHAT/LINE CHAT. At least one member of each team has to be available as much as possible, and – if there is one – stay inside the official tournament group until the team gets eliminated from the competition. Some organizer might have different messaging application requirement. 2. Registration 2.1 General 2.1.1 The tournaments are opened to guilds/players on iOS or Android, World server. Specific tournament rules will provide more details. 2.1.2 Unless specified otherwise in the tournament rules, a Team consists of three participants of the same guild for tournaments on Border Skirmish. On Rift Sinskaald and Under Realm Ruin, a Team consist five participants of the same guild. Those persons will be called “team members” or “members” of the team in the following. 2.2 Stand-ins 2.2.1 Besides the official members, a team has the right to register up to three additional players from any guild as a team members if these persons meet the following requirement: they are not members of another team or have played a game for another team within the competition. These participants are called “stand-in” in thereafter. 2.2.2 There should be more members in the team than stand-ins at every match. 2.2.3 The stand-ins serve as a replacement if one member can’t be present at the team’s schedule match. 2.3 Team infos 2.3.1 All teams have to provide the tournament organizer the following information upon registration: Full list of all members with their complete IGN (in game name) Name of the captain (or main contact of the team) The captain’s KAKAO/ LINE CHAT ID Region in which the team will register (if any) 2.3.2 For multi-regions tournament, a guild can register up to three teams, maximum one per region (America, Europe, Asia). In such case, team names will be suffixed with _NA (North-America), _EU (Europe), or _AS (Asia). For example, the guild “MyGuildName” registered in America and Europe cup will be named MyGuildName_NA and MyGuildName_EU. 2.3.3 A member can be registered in ONLY ONE team across ALL regions. 2.3.4 Multiple registration of a participant in more than one team, or manipulating the tournament in any way (ex: playing under a guildmate’s account, etc.), may lead to the disqualification of ALL teams of that guild, as well as being banned from participating to any future HOC Masters tournament. 2.4 Lineup Changes 2.4.1 IN THE RARE EVENT THAT A TEAM IS NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF TEAM MEMBERS NECESSARY TO BEGIN THE MATCH, THAT TEAM WILL HAVE 15 MINUTES FROM THE TIME OF ROOM CREATION TO PROVIDE NEW STAND-INS. ANY LATER AND THE TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. 2.4.2 Team members can be removed anytime as long as at least three (Border) or five (Rift and URR) members are left. To request a removal, the captain or manager of the team or the affected member himself has to contact the tournament organizer. 2.4.3 A new member can only be added during the competition if he hasn’t played a game for another team inside the competition. To request an addition, the captain or manager of the team has to provide the organizer all additional information. 3. Schedule 3.1 Match times 3.1.1 The official schedule of the competition will be announced on HOCMasters.com and/or on the competition’s website. The teams will also be informed about it in wechat. This schedule should includes the time of each match. 3.1.2 If a delayed end of a previous match prohibits a match to start on schedule (due to either one of the involved teams still playing or the official broadcaster still streaming the previous match), the match time is changed to 5 minutes after the previous match ends. 3.2 Rescheduling The change of a match time is only possible under exceptional circumstances and has to be confirmed by the organizers. 3.3 Punctuality If a team is not ready to start the match 15 minutes after the official starting time, the organizers will decide about a possible punishment. If the organizers are unavailable at that moment, the “winning” team can send a screenshot showing all team members in the game lobby as well as a time stamp that proves that the other team did not show up. The screenshot has to be send to firstname.lastname@example.org. 4. Game & Settings 4.1 Winning Conditions & Proof 4.1.1 Unless specified otherwise, these are the conditions to win: Destroy the enemy base Other team surrenders Other team is disqualified 4.1.2 The winning team captain must sent the winning screenshots of the game to the organizers, or at HOCMasters administration MrDisaster999@gmail.com 4.2 Game, Sides & Lobby 4.2.1 The “first team” means the team mentioned first on the match page, match ticker, or grid (depending on the type of competition). 4.2.2 The first team always play Order side on first game. If the series between these teams includes more than one match, the second match team swap sides (first team goes Chaos), and alternate from Order to Chaos every subsequent matches. 4.2.3 Games are created in password protected Custom lobby by the captain playing the “Order” side. The teams must agree and share the password at least 10 minutes before the match. 4.3 Bans 4.3.1 Unless specified otherwise, in every match, both teams can choose to ban two heroes from the available hero pool. These four heroes total will be banned for both teams, similar to ranked PvP. 4.3.2 Bans are determined in sequence. First ban goes always to Chaos side, second ban Order side, third ban Chaos side, and fourth ban Order side, similar to ranked PvP. 4.3.3 Bans must be decided prior the match (through wechat) or within the lobby by the team captains before the game start time. 4.3.4 If a member of any team picked one of the banned heroes by mistake, match will be stopped immediately, remade with exactly same heroes and profile skills for both teams, except for the member who has to change hero. 4.4 Disconnection/Lag/Desynchronization 4.4.1 In the event of a player disconnects from the game or lag (red ping), the match will continue with the team disadvantage, and result of the game will count. One exception: if a disconnect happens before 5 minutes in game, AND score is still 0-0 (no first blood) with all towers up on both teams, the team captain (or sub-captain) of the disconnected member can ask for a remake. 4.4.2 A remake will only be valid and accepted if the organizers receive a screenshot showing both the in-game timer and the disconnected player in the drop-down hero list. Once approved, the game will be remade with the exact same heroes, profile skills and players on both teams. 4.4.3 There is only one remake request possible per team, per series. 4.4.4 In the event of a desynchronized game, the match will be restarted with the same players and same draft for both teams. Proof of desynchronized must be provided to the organizer (2 screen shots at almost same in game time with different KDA for example) 4.5.Cheating Cheating or hacking is defined as any exploit that are beyond what is considered intended game mechanics. Any cheating or hacking will automatically disqualify the team for the rest of the tournament. If such event may happen, screenshot or replay should be provided to the organizers as proof. 5. Rule Violation & Punishment 5.1 Rules Breaking of the rules or ignoring the order of an organizer or HOC Masters admins may result in a punishment for a whole team or a specific player. Type and amount is chosen by a referee. 5.2. Possible Player Punishments Temporary ban from the competition Permanent ban from the competition Ban from other HOC Masters competitions 5.4 Rule violations in other tournaments Heavy rule violations on external HOC leagues or tournaments may also result in punishments for HOC Masters competitions. 6- Prizes 6.1 All cash prize money transfers are handled via PayPal.
